Do I need previous caregiving experience?No. Experience is welcome, but compassion, responsibility, and willingness to learn are just as important. -
Do I need to speak German?Yes. Since most placements are in Germany and Austria, basic German skills are usually required. You should be able to understand and communicate in everyday situations. English can be an advantage, but it does not replace German for most assignments. -
Is accommodation included?Yes. Accommodation and meals are included in all live-in placements, so you can focus on your work without worrying about everyday living expenses. - Can I choose which placements to apply for?Yes. How much can I earn?Live-in caregivers typically earn between €2,500 and €3,400 per month, depending on the placement, responsibilities, language skills, and experience. Since accommodation and meals are included, many caregivers are able to save a significant portion of their income. Compensation details are always provided before you apply for a specific opportunity. -
How long does it take to start working?The time varies depending on your profile, language skills, and the availability of suitable placements. Open opportunities are available in your personal dashboard as soon as your profile is ready. Many caregivers are able to start working within 2–4 weeks after completing their application, although the exact timing depends on the family's selection and the required preparations. -
What happens after I submit my application?After submitting your application, FamilyDom automatically creates your professional profile and gives you access to your personal dashboard. There, you can browse available placements and apply for the opportunities that interest you. We support you throughout the entire process until you start working with a family.
